Snowshoeing!

We've been talking about snowshoeing for a while, and finally got around to doing it this past weekend. With so little snow in Longmont, we weren't sure there would be enough to make snowshoeing worthwhile. I even made fun of Clifton for wanting to wear a snow bib.

The guy at the rental shop told us that there would be plenty of snow in the mountains with a fresh three inches the night prior.

He was right. Plenty of snow in Rocky Mountain National Park. We weren't even sure the civic would make it to the trailhead. But it did.

We had a great time. Not quite as hard as I had anticipated. We agreed that it was not unlike hiking in terms of difficulty. Oh, except that the trails aren't marked. We think we made it to the lake. We're not sure. Definitely something we'd like to work into future winters.

But next time we'll wear snow bibs.

What a fun weekend!! Yes, snow bibs were required gear on cold days/vacations growing up. Nerdy, but warm. :) So glad you had a nice time. Thanks for sharing!
