Sarah's first week

We had a great first week with Sarah. We had a quiet few hours after she was born just to enjoy her all to ourselves. Then Jess (our nanny who came over at midnight the night before to stay with the girls) brought Naomi and Annika to the hospital to meet Baby Sarah. Both girls were quite enamored with her.

That night our nurse took Sarah to the nurses' station, so we could sleep. Sarah left our room at 10pm, came back from 2-2:30 to nurse and then not again until 6am. Strangely, despite having just had a baby and sleeping in a hospital, it was the best sleep I'd had in a few months.

On Monday Dave and Val came by with Timothy, and the girls visited again with Suzi. We left the hospital about 24 hours after Sarah was born, and were together as a family of five that night. It was a little rough for Naomi and Annika--I think the busy-ness of the weekend and the time without Mama and Daddy just made them emotional. But it was nice to have Dave and Val come over with their kids with dinner and a cake--Happy birthday, Sarah!

Our awesome friends Matt and Amber came to visit from Rochester, NY--they had planned to hang out with us and the Parsons waiting for Sarah to be born, but this was even better. With them, Sarah made her first trip to Rocky Mountain National Park, Estes Park, and had a lot of good time with great friends just relaxing.

So far, Sarah seems to be a better eater than our other two girls. She had her first doctor's appointment at four days and was almost back at birth weight already. She's settling into a good eating schedule and is only getting me up once overnight to nurse. I am most thankful for that. Like her sisters, she seems to be a pretty laid back baby.

We already feel like this is going too fast. Just trying to enjoy every minute of our crazy life.
