Week Thirty-three

Here's Clifton finishing the San Francisco marathon in front of the Bay Bridge.

Finishing time was 2:59:40. I  know I brag a lot about this guy, and I hope that's not annoying, but it's mostly because if it was up to him, no one would even know he did these things. Anyway, he finished 5th of 610 in his division. It was a small enough marathon that the announcer dude could get in everyone's face, give high fives, and say things like, "Railsback! Go Colorado! This guy's representing the front range!"

Afterwards we rode a trolley car (naturally)...

...and ate clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl down at Fisherman's Wharf.

Before we headed back to our hotel with Shannon and Sean to get our stuff to fly out that evening.

Other than my GI bug which left me puking on Saturday, an awesome weekend!

Look what Sarah figured out this week--it's a little gross that she's using a kid potty for this, but it's not like I could recreate the first time it happened somewhere else...

Within two weeks she has learned to army crawl, regular crawl, get herself to standing, and had her first tooth come in. This is going way too fast.

And she's pretty proud of herself for it.

This past weekend we went to Telluride for the Bluegrass Festival. We went with two other families and rented a house together. The older girls made bouquets for us.

Sarah's first trip on a gondola.

Annika's first trip that she remembers on a gondola.

Here we are at the festival, hanging out in someone else's tent.

Sarah was totally going for that PB&J sandwich of Audrey's

And you can't go to this and not want to get up and dance.

And get some air.

And some tickles.

Poor Sarah. She spent most of the day with her face covered with hat because we were too clueless to notice.

There she is!

Amelia and Annika snuggling

And the gondola ride back to our house.

The adults ditched the kids with Marie's sister (Emily) who watched seven kids age 6 and under so we could go back to the festival. Apparently I had this set to manual focus instead of auto focus, but man those mountains are clear!

The guys.

The sun starting to set over the mountains.

The dancing. Oh yeah.

The relaxed parents who had received a text that all the kids were in bed so we could stop worrying about poor Emily's sanity.
