Week Thirty-Nine

We probably should've harvested this a little sooner, but we were on vacation.

So this really needs audio to appreciate. Naomi wanted to dance and Annika was to be her music. So imagine a two year old singing the song Ariel sings when she gives her voice to Ursula. You know the one. Now imagine hearing it again and again while Naomi dances. Look how seriously Annika's taking that singing.

Neve and Audrey came over to play one afternoon.

Nothing going on here. Just chomping on this arm I found laying around.

Nom nom.

She likes this but hasn't totally figured out walking behind moving things.

Naomi's been very into writing this summer.

Annika's trying desperately to keep up so wants to practice her letters in preparation for preschool.

More pool time this week.

This girl loves the pool. And drinking pool water when you're not stopping her.

Naomi's mostly underwater these days.

While we were at the pool I looked over and Naomi's doing a somersault underwater. I had no idea she could do this. Apparently neither did she because when she came up she was sputtering and gasping and panicked. She wasn't trying to do one, she just got disoriented under the water. And instead of helping her, I was just sitting there watching. Oops. Once we told her what she had done she was eager to try again and this is what you get.

Ready for a night out in Boulder...

...because our friends Tim and Jen were in town. Tim went to med school with Suzi and me. I hadn't seen him since graduation in 2002, so this was a very fun reunion evening.

What great photos! That one of Sarah holding the toy arm looks like one of Lori or Clifton from years ago. I will have to get Jan to research for the photo.

Good grief that first picture is amazing! What are you going to do with it? It'll make one hell of a loaf of zucchini bread!

Tell Naomi that her Grandma Re and I did somersaults underwater in the swimming pool like she is accomplishing now...brings back great memories! The only difference is Naomi is younger than we were! It is special to see how much she loves being in water!! Also, we pretended we were water ballerinas!

Did you stuff the zucchini with meat or dressing? We have way too much squash and zucchini. Any ideas what to do with eggplant?

Just an FYI: Sarah is not allowed to walk before Timothy!! =)

next time we go to the pool i'm going to see what she does with "water ballerina"! thanks for the fun idea. i stuffed the zuchhini with a mixture of sausage and stuffing, then put spaghetti sauce and mozzarella over it. all i can think of for eggplant is eggplant parmesean.
