Our niece Abby was in Denver for a long layover so we met up for lunch.
First track meet of the season in Lyons.
PR for Annika in the 1600m with a time of 6:13, 2nd place.
Holly endured the cold and rain to cheer her on.
Naomi had a ballet brunch mini performace for The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
2nd meet, at Longmont High, loved passing boys, and got first for the girls with a PR of 6:05.
She also had fun as the lead off in the 4x100
Between soccer and track, we will probably be spending lots of time in this stadium over the next four years.
The odyssey needed more in repairs than it was worth, so we sold it this month. We had a good run with this car -- lots and lots of road trips and memories. And even though I know minivans aren't cool, I will never regret having a minivan for this stage of life.
Annika as a hungry hippo during her 30 hour famine at church to fundraise and increase awareness of global hunger.
Next meet at Silver Creek -- first in the 1600m with a time of 6:09.
It's fun when Annika gets to run with/against her soccer team mates who go to different schools.
This was a crazy windy meet. I was wrapped in a blanket wearing my winter jacket, gloves, and hat and was still freezing.
This month Naomi was inducted into the National Honor Society.
Sarah got a ribbon at the district art show this year!
Annika had a piece in the show too.
Next meet at Niwot with a time of 6:08
She also does shot put. But only because everyone has to do a field event and this one seems the easiest to just get it over with and have no one really see you because who's hanging out by the shot put??
It's official.
The track season wrapped up with the district meet where Annika got her first sub-six mile!
There were happy tears.
She took third in the mile and seventh in the 800m.
Naomi was cast as Susan in their spring gala, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
It was a fun role for her and exciting to do a show she hadn't done before.
Backstage at dress rehearsals before the coronation scene.
With Lily, the White Witch, at the last dress rehearsal.
I've been to a lot of soccer games in my life, many of which were in less than ideal conditions, but this one takes the cake at 37 degrees with a combination of sleet and hail and standing water on the field.
Warming up for the show!
Becoming Queen of Narnia
She had lots of supporters including her bestie Lucy
And Aunt Val and T-money
and Oma!
She's a youth group leader for sixth grade girls at church who also came to see her!
Sarah had her fifth grade field day, competing against other elementary schools in the district.
Clifton and I couldn't make it to field day, so Oma to the rescue!
She competed in five events including the three legged race, the shuttle relay, the 4x100, the 50 meter dash, and tug of war.
She came home with five blue ribbons!
