Annika's fourth week

It's getting harder and harder to write these because the weeks seem to all blur together, making it hard to remember what goes in what week. Fun things from this past week included celebrating Jeremy's second birthday with him, more time with Oma, a quiet Sunday at home baking pumpkin spice whoopie pies with the fireplace going while it was gray and rainy outside, a trip to the zoo, and a trip to the library.

Annika's doing great. She still seems to mostly sleep and eat without much awake time. She is super laid back, maybe even moreso than Naomi was. It's rare that she cries.

Naomi's such a sweet big sister. When Annika starts fussing, she hops up and runs to find a pacifier to pop in her mouth. She likes to narrate everything Annika does (which admittedly isn't much). My favorite was when she declared Annika was hicc-ing up.

Her sweetness is tempered by the crazy irrationality that is the mindset of a two year old. Honestly, it's so exhausting to live it that I have no desire to write it all down now. But she's doing what I'd expect a kid to do at this stage. We're making it. Picking our battles. Negotiating what we're willing to negotiate. Bracing ourselves for mood changes that occur without warning. Trying to maintain some semblance of control. :)

My arthritis is starting to flare up a bit, which is about when it did after Naomi. It's not nearly as bad yet as it was last time. Then I had a hard time even holding Naomi, getting out of bed on my own, etc. Now it's just some moderate aches and pains, but nothing that is significantly affecting my activity level.

That's about it, just trying to enjoy each day for what it is, and remember the blessings in our lives.
