First half of May 2026

Dividing May into two separate blogs because it's just too much to take on in one. And if you feel like our life is just track and soccer during the spring, you're not wrong. At least according to my camera roll. Until it's time for your baby to graduate, but that's in the next blog...

Annika's last regular season game --  having grown up in Florida, I am still blown away all the time by the splendor of the mountains. And those clouds!

Soaking the coach after the win!

Ava came straight from ballet to cheer for her friends on the team!

Celebrating with Sarah

Even made the paper!

Annika's team kept shaving seconds off their 4x800 time throughout the spring

Sarah's NJHS induction at Westview Middle School

With some of friends who also were inducted

With her good friend Sadie

So proud of this girl!

We got almost no snow all winter so this late spring storm was a welcome treat!

In the paper again! Longmont High womens' soccer grew a legit following!

Announcing the starting lineup

Playoffs start with 32 teams

First game down -- a win! On to the sweet 16!

Meanwhile Naomi's dissecting cats in AP Bio.

Annika's 4x 800 team

Annika's final 1600m of the season -- my favorite part of this photo is that this was taken 800m in and she slowly picked off every single girl in front of her in this pic (which doesn't mean she got first, but she's running smart and sometimes getting a little lucky).

And a new PR for her!

She had come right from soccer practice to the race, and her soccer team mates came over to cheer her on

Also friends from church racing/cheering :)

Sarah had a busy spring soccer season too -- I just didn't capture as much of it on film. But she worked her butt off playing midfield and wing.

Clifton and I got all dressed up to go to the Young Life annual fundraising dinner. I am always moved to tears when I see the ways that Young Life is loving students in our schools.

Long emotional days always feel better when you have a puppy to snuggle.

After the final 4 x 800 of the season

I love the sportsmanship of running -- when others (who apparently don't want to die after their run) come over and congratulate and thank you for pushing them.

Sarah rocked it at the middle school district track meet -- 4th in the 4 x 400, 6th in the 1600, 7th in the 800

She also got to meet these Olympians!

Elite 8 game -- the other team got a header goal in the last seven seconds of regulation, no points scored in two overtimes, so it came down to PKs -- which is the first time I've had to go through that in 13 years as a soccer mom! Oh man, so much pressure but they pulled it off!

On to the final four!

First day of kinder and last day of high school for seniors -- how can we be here already?

Sweet girl, you did it!

She dug out her kindergarten shirt with all their self portraits 💗

Last day of kinder

and last day of senior year, with sisters beside you all the way!

Burger King crowns are a senior tradition

And a senior sunset to close out their four years together...

Semfinal game!!! Down 3-1 with 12 minutes left. Wasn't feeling so great. Down 3-2 with six minutes left. Tied 3-3 with two minutes left in regulation. Forced overtime and lost in sudden death to the team that went on to win it all.

Annika working to defend the state player of the year.

It was a tough loss but so much to be proud of this season!

So much love in the stands for these girls!

These girls! 💙💙💙

Naomi's final ballet recital with Centennial State Ballet

Dance of the Little Swans from Swan Lake

...and some salsa

...and crowd favorite, Bollywood

The ballet school honored Naomi and Katie, their graduating seniors.

These three are inseparable at dance -- it's great to see your kid do what she loves with friends that she loves.

First grad party -- celebrating Jeremy!

Turns out Naomi max'd out at Jeremy's 6th grade height; Annika made it to 8th grade.

And on to the next grad party to celebrate our friend McKenna!

And Sarah's band at their end of year concert -- their teacher lost a bet. Middle school teachers are the best.
