Week Nineteen

We started our week with a fun first birthday celebration for Silas!

Naomi was very excited to make cupcakes for her class birthday party.

How excited? Excited enough to lick the bowl clean.

Excited enough to pose like these crazies.

Also exciting? Temperatures in the 60s. Yes, 65 degrees warrants swimsuits in our home.

Exciting for me? Nine year old neighbor girls who love playing with the girls. This was an hour of peace and quiet for me. (Yes, in swimsuits with piles of snow still in the yard.)

Naomi took this shot of Jess and Annika

Naomi had a really fun day at school being the birthday princess.

This is me trying to cram Sarah Mae into a couple cute spring outfits before she outgrows them just because we had a couple warm days.

More older neighbors. More quiet time for Mama. Seriously, I am so thankful to have great older kids all around us.

Sarah is *this* close to rolling over.

To say Naomi was excited about her birthday would be an understatement.

Clifton and his girls. Funny how we always look tired in photos, and the kids always so full of energy.

She got lots of fun presents.

Naomi wanted cinnamon rolls for her birthday breakfast.

Okay, I love Clifton for lots of reasons. But one of the things that doesn't occur to you when you're dating someone is how much more you will love them while watching them play with your children. Especially when it's your husband doing paper dolls. What a man.

Check it out! 30th percentile!!

Annika wants in on it. 50th percentile!

She's not standing by her growth chart, but at her well child check she was 70th percentile.

And she found her feet this week!

Waiting to her friends to show up for her Ariel birthday party.

...which was her first party for kids only. No adults allowed. Except us. Because we feed them.

Naomi and Amelia coloring their mermaid t-shirts

Look at the finished products. Naomi is wearing leggings. Just in case you thought she was naked from the waist down.

We also made clothespin mermaids.

And paper plate jelly fish.

And even some fish. Naomi wanted a crafty party and she got a crafty party.

For lunch we had starfish sandwiches...

...crab legs, and sea cucumbers.

And of course and Ariel cake (the idea of which I totally stole from my sister-in-law Sam)

Happy birthday to you!

There is some unspoken rule at kid parties that while opening presents everyone has to get as close as possible. It's pretty cute.

Also cute? This. Holy. Cow.

Jess stopped by the party too. When I asked Naomi if she wanted to go play with her friends, she said, "I just want to snuggle Jess." We love Jess.

Playing with her new Legos.

We had a birthday dinner with Dave, Val, Jeremy and Timothy.

And another serving of birthday cake! Does life get better?

Timothy and Sarah hanging out together. Poking each other's eyes and whatnot.

Wet with drool down to her belly button. That's how we roll.

Amazing party! Glad you don't live too close to give my kids some crazy ideas. I suppose you made that mermaid cake. Naomi has some rocking fine motor skills!!
